What changed June 1, 2026

Aeroplan's current chart applies to tickets booked or reissued on or after June 1, 2026. Several premium-cabin partner bands increased, while some short-haul business awards fell. Tickets issued before that date retained the prior price unless reissued.

How Aeroplan award pricing works

Aeroplan has four zones—North America, Atlantic, Pacific, and South America—and uses distance bands within each zone pairing. Its chart has two pricing treatments: Air Canada and select partners use dynamic prices, shown as a starting price and, where available, a median; most other partner awards use the printed fixed price. Select partners are United, Emirates, flydubai, Etihad, Canadian North, Calm Air, Bearskin, and PAL. Add the flown distance across segments before locating a band.

New York–London is roughly 3,450 miles, so a fixed-partner itinerary falls in the North America–Atlantic 0–4,000-mile band: 60,000 points one way in business or 32,500 in economy. Check the live result for any itinerary involving Air Canada or a select partner; its price can rise with demand and availability.

Earning and using Aeroplan points

For travel from January 1, 2026, Air Canada flights earn at least 1 point per CA$1 of base fare and carrier surcharges, excluding taxes and third-party charges; eligible Elite members can earn up to 6 points per CA$1. Partner flights ticketed by another airline can still earn based on distance. Confirm any credit-card transfer rate before moving points.

For redemptions, confirm availability before transferring. Partner awards can incur a CA$39 booking fee per ticket, but Aeroplan does not add carrier-imposed surcharges. Aeroplan's July 2026 Hyatt partnership also offers Category 1–4 and Category 1–7 World of Hyatt Free Night Awards starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points; verify the certificate's current price and terms before redeeming.

Air Canada Aeroplan Award Chart FAQs

What is the Air Canada Aeroplan award chart for 2026?

Air Canada Aeroplan uses distance bands across North America, Atlantic, Pacific, and South America. The June 2026 chart shows fixed prices for most partner-operated awards, while Air Canada and select-partner awards have dynamic pricing.

Does Air Canada Aeroplan have peak and off-peak award pricing?

Not in the traditional sense, but the operating airline matters. Awards on most partners use the fixed chart. Awards on Air Canada and select partners—United, Emirates, flydubai, Etihad, Canadian North, Calm Air, Bearskin, and PAL—are dynamically priced: the chart shows a starting price and, where available, a median. If an itinerary includes Air Canada or a select partner, confirm its live price before transferring.

What changed with the Aeroplan award chart in June 2026?

Effective for tickets booked or reissued on or after June 1, 2026, Aeroplan increased several premium-cabin partner prices. For example, North America–Atlantic 4,001–6,000-mile business increased from 70,000 to 75,000 points, and North America–Pacific 7,501–11,000-mile partner business increased from 87,500 to 102,500 points. Some short-haul business prices decreased.

How many Aeroplan points do I need for a flight to Europe?

On a fixed partner award, New York–London is roughly 3,450 miles and falls in the North America–Atlantic 0–4,000-mile band: 32,500 points in economy or 60,000 in business one way. An Air Canada or select-partner itinerary can price higher because it is dynamic.

Can I use Aeroplan points for Hyatt hotels?

Yes. Aeroplan offers World of Hyatt Category 1–4 and Category 1–7 Free Night Awards, with the Category 1–4 option starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points. Confirm the current certificate price and terms before redeeming.
