Capital One Rebrands Spark Miles to Venture Business — Better Bonus, New Credits
Capital One has rebranded the Spark Miles to Venture Business and Spark Miles Select to VentureOne Business. The premium card gets a much better signup bonus and two new annual credits.
Capital One has rebranded its small business miles lineup. The Spark Miles is now the Capital One Venture Business, and the Spark Miles Select is now the Capital One VentureOne Business. The name changes bring the cards in line with Capital One's consumer Venture family — and the premium card gets a meaningfully upgraded signup bonus and two brand-new annual credits.
What Changed on the Venture Business (formerly Spark Miles)
The Venture Business is the more significant update. Here's what's new:
Annual fee: Drops slightly from $99 to $95.
Signup bonus — massively improved: The old Spark Miles offered 50,000 miles after $4,500 spend in 3 months. The new offer is tiered:
- 75,000 miles after $7,500 spend in the first 3 months
- Additional 75,000 miles after $30,000 total spend in the first 6 months
- Total: up to 150,000 miles — worth roughly $2,775 at Capital One's 1.85¢/mile valuation
Yes, the spend threshold is higher — $7,500 vs. $4,500 for the first tier. But the ceiling is dramatically better. Any business that can put $30k through a card in six months is looking at a welcome bonus worth nearly $2,800.
Two new permanent annual credits:
- $50 Capital One Business Travel credit — applies to eligible bookings made through Capital One Business Travel
- $50 advertising or software credit — applies to eligible purchases in select categories. Think subscriptions like ChatGPT, productivity tools, or digital advertising spend
Together these credits offset $100 of the $95 annual fee, making the card effectively free (and then some) for cardholders who use both.
Global Entry / TSA PreCheck: The existing $120 credit remains.
Earning rates are unchanged: 5x miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel, 2x miles on everything else.

What Changed on the VentureOne Business (formerly Spark Miles Select)
The VentureOne Business is a simpler update — mostly a rebrand with the same underlying structure:
- No annual fee (unchanged)
- 50,000 miles after $4,500 spend in 3 months (same offer as before)
- 1.5x miles on all purchases (unchanged)
- 5x miles on hotels and rental cars via Capital One Business Travel (unchanged)
- No statement credits
The VentureOne Business remains the no-fee entry point into Capital One's business miles ecosystem. It's a solid card for business owners who want to earn miles without a fee commitment — though the 1.5x flat rate faces stiff competition from cash back cards at the same tier.
Should You Apply?
For the Venture Business: If your business spends $7,500+ in the first three months, the first tier alone nets 75,000 miles — more than the entire old Spark Miles bonus. If you can hit $30k in six months, the 150,000-mile total is one of the better business travel bonuses available right now.
The two new $50 credits are a genuine addition. The Capital One Business Travel credit is easy to use if you book through the portal, and the advertising/software credit will apply naturally for many businesses already paying for SaaS tools.
The math on year one is strong even at the first tier:
| Value | |
|---|---|
| 75,000-mile first-tier bonus | ~$1,388 |
| $50 travel credit | $50 |
| $50 software/advertising credit | $50 |
| Annual fee | -$95 |
| First-year net (first tier) | ~$1,393 |
Hit the full 150k and you're looking at ~$2,683 net in year one.
For the VentureOne Business: A fine no-fee option, but the signup bonus and earning structure are unchanged. Apply if you want to enter the Capital One business miles ecosystem without an annual fee commitment.
Bottom Line
The Venture Business rebrand is more than cosmetic on the premium tier. A 150,000-mile potential bonus, two new annual credits, and a slight fee reduction make this one of the better refreshes of a business card we've seen. If you've been sitting on the old Spark Miles offer, the timing to apply has never been better.
