Wallet grade

An overall A–F score showing how well-optimized your portfolio is

Understanding your wallet grade

Your wallet grade is an A–F score that reflects how well your card portfolio is optimized. It looks at three things:

1

Category coverage

Does your portfolio cover your major spending categories (Dining, Groceries, Gas, Travel, etc.) with at least one card offering a bonus rate?

2

Fee justification

For each card with an annual fee, are you earning enough in rewards and using enough credits to justify the cost?

3

Redundancy

Are you paying two annual fees for cards that do the same thing, or holding a card that adds nothing new to your wallet?

Grade breakdown

A

Excellent

Your cards cover all major spending categories, rewards outweigh fees, and you're capturing near-maximum value.

B

Good

Solid portfolio with minor gaps or slight over-payment in fees. A few tweaks could push you to A.

C

Average

Some categories aren't covered well or fees exceed rewards in certain areas. Room for improvement.

D

Below average

Significant gaps or fee-heavy cards that aren't earning their keep. Consider replacing or adding cards.

F

Needs work

You may be losing money to fees without offsetting rewards. Time for a wallet overhaul.

Tracking signup bonuses

When you add a card with an active signup bonus, CardCurator tracks your spending progress toward the minimum spend requirement.

  • The card shows a progress bar toward the spending requirement
  • You can see how many days are left in the bonus window
  • Once earned, you can mark the bonus as received
Tip: Set the card date to when you were approved (not when you got the card in the mail) for accurate countdown timers.
