Spending Tracker

Three tools to help you earn more at every purchase: a merchant search to find your best card, a category earn rate view, and a statement analyzer.

Best Card for a Merchant

This is the most-used tool in the Spending section. Search for any specific store or restaurant and instantly see which card in your wallet earns the most there.

How it works:

1

Type the store name in the search box (e.g. "Whole Foods" or "Delta Air Lines")

2

CardCurator identifies the merchant category (Groceries, Airlines, etc.)

3

It checks every card in your wallet to find the highest earn rate for that category

4

You see a ranked list — swipe the top card and earn the most

Example: Searching "Trader Joe's"

Category: Grocery Stores

Amex Gold Card 4 MR points per $1
4x Best
Chase Freedom Flex 3 UR points per $1
3x
Chase Sapphire Preferred 1 UR point per $1
1x

Category earn rate view

The Spending section also shows a grid of all spending categories (Dining, Groceries, Gas, Travel, etc.) with the best card from your wallet for each. This gives you a quick cheat sheet of which card to use where.

Use this as a reference card. Screenshot it or bookmark the page so you always know:

  • Which card to use for groceries
  • Which card to use for dining
  • Which card to use for gas
  • Which card to use when shopping online

Statement Analyzer

The Statement Analyzer lets you upload a credit card statement and see how much you earned — vs how much you could have earned — with your current wallet.

1

Go to Statement Analyzer (link in the Spending section or top navigation)

2

Upload your PDF statement from any credit card

3

CardCurator reads the transactions and categorizes them

4

It shows what you earned, what the optimal card would have earned, and the difference

Privacy: Statement files are processed and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored.

Browser Extension

The CardCurator browser extension shows your best card automatically when you're shopping online — no need to open the app.

It appears as a small popup when you're on a merchant's checkout page and shows which card in your wallet earns the most for that site.
