Bilt has packed two very different stories into the end of October: a limited November Rent Day promotion and a meaningful 2027 rewrite of its card-benefit structure. The Rent Day deal is worth a quick look if you already have a planned gift-card or hotel redemption. The long-term changes deserve more attention—especially if you opened a Bilt card before 2027 and want to preserve Flexible Bilt Cash.

November Rent Day: Gift-Card Bonuses and Hotel Discounts

For the November 2026 Rent Day window, Bilt is offering an elevated return on eligible gift-card redemptions, with the bonus tied to status:

Bilt status Gift-card bonus Published value per point
Blue 25% 0.875 cents
Silver 50% 1.05 cents
Gold 75% 1.225 cents
Platinum 100% 1.4 cents

Bilt is also advertising up to $150 off eligible Bilt Travel Portal hotel bookings made between October 28 and November 2 at 3:00 a.m. Eastern. The discount varies by eligible spending and status tier, and it cannot be combined with Bilt Cash or other credits.

The gift-card offer is a reasonable off-ramp for someone who values simplicity and has an immediate use. But it is not automatically the best use of Bilt Points. A transfer to an airline or hotel program can produce substantially more value when you have a specific award in hand. Do not redeem points just because a bonus is available; compare the gift card’s value with the cash price and with your realistic travel options.

The Big 2027 Change: Flexible Bilt Cash Is Being Retired for New Accounts

Beginning January 1, 2027, people who open a new Bilt card account will use the Housing-only rewards structure rather than Flexible Bilt Cash. Under the Housing-only approach, members can earn up to 1.25X Bilt Points on rent or mortgage payments, with the rate determined by qualifying non-housing card spend during the billing cycle.

The key difference is what disappears for future accounts: Flexible Bilt Cash’s 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday purchases. Bilt says the everyday Bilt Points multipliers on the cards are not changing, but that 4% Bilt Cash option is no longer available to accounts opened on or after January 1.

Existing cardholders have a real choice

Existing cardholders will move to refreshed benefits at their first 2027 card-account anniversary unless they opt out in the Bilt app before that date. Opting out keeps the current Flexible Bilt Cash mode and its associated benefits, but the choice is effectively one-way: members who move to Housing-only benefits cannot later switch back to Flexible Bilt Cash.

That makes this a decision to make deliberately, not a setting to ignore. Flexible Bilt Cash is most compelling for cardholders who consistently use the 4% return on everyday spend or who receive legacy hotel credits. Housing-only may be cleaner for someone focused primarily on earning points from rent or mortgage payments.

Bilt Cash Now Expires 12 Months After It Is Earned

Effective immediately, every Bilt Cash award expires at the end of the month 12 months after it is earned. The change replaces the former year-end deadline and applies to Bilt Cash already earned. For example, Bilt says cash earned in February 2026 expires at the end of February 2027.

This is easier to manage than a single annual expiration date, but it still calls for a plan. Bilt automatically applies the soonest-expiring Bilt Cash first, so members should periodically check the Wallet section of the app rather than assume a balance will remain available indefinitely.

Hotel Credits Become Annual Bilt Cash for Refreshed Benefits

For people moving to the refreshed benefits, Bilt will replace certain hotel credits with annual Bilt Cash:

  • Bilt Obsidian Card: the hotel credit becomes a $100 annual Bilt Cash credit.
  • Bilt Palladium Card: the existing $200 Bilt Cash credit and $400 hotel credit become a $600 annual Bilt Cash credit.

Those annual Bilt Cash credits will post on the card anniversary rather than January 1. Cardholders who opt out and remain in Flexible Bilt Cash keep the eligible legacy hotel-credit structure instead.

There is a counterweight: beginning January 1, 2027, Bilt Cash hotel redemptions will be limited to two per calendar year. Each redemption is capped at $50 for Blue and Silver members, $100 for Gold and Platinum members, and $200 for eligible Palladium cardholders on the refreshed benefits. The two-night minimum remains.

In other words, the new annual Bilt Cash can be more flexible than a hotel-specific credit, but Bilt Cash hotel use becomes materially less flexible for frequent portal bookers. The right choice depends on whether you value broad Bilt Cash uses more than recurring hotel-booking credits.

Other Changes Coming in 2027

Bilt also says it will launch Daily Rewards on January 15, 2027. Qualifying on-time housing payments and certain neighborhood activities will unlock a reward, with possible outcomes ranging from Bilt Points and Bilt Cash to entries toward larger prizes.

Additional announced changes include:

  • Gold and Platinum members gaining the ability to use Bilt Points for eligible Home Away From Home hotel bookings.
  • Hertz and SIXT status-match offers for Silver, Gold, and Platinum members.
  • In-app card upgrades for eligible cardholders.
  • Continued Bilt Cash access for Point Accelerator for Obsidian and Palladium cardholders on refreshed benefits.

These additions are useful around the edges, but they should not decide whether to hold or apply for a card. The important math remains your housing payments, normal non-housing spend, annual fee, and whether you will actually redeem Bilt Points or Bilt Cash well.

Bottom Line

November Rent Day’s gift-card bonus can work for an immediate, low-effort redemption, while the hotel discount is only useful if its terms fit a booking you already wanted. The bigger action item is for existing Bilt cardholders: check your account-anniversary date and decide before then whether preserving Flexible Bilt Cash is valuable to you.

For new applicants in 2027, evaluate Bilt on its Housing-only rewards and core point-earning structure—not on the 4% Bilt Cash benefit that will no longer be available. Track your Bilt cards, points, and renewal decisions on Card Curator.
